Great Sleep = Happy Skin

Prioritize Sleep.

Trust me when I say - sleep is so important!

As a new mom with an infant during this challenging time, I long for a good sleep! Just one!

I miss good sleep.

And I also know that my fatigue and exhaustion is affecting my skin.

Rested skin is happy skin.

I am not going to lie. I need more rest. That excellent deep rest that gives us energy, and when we look in the mirror, we don't feel like our eyes will reveal the truth about how weary we are. That is the kind of rest I need.

Always looking for ways to help my skin feel revived, healthy and happy, I also look for intentional ways to support my sleep.

When I am stressed, sleep is the first thing to go, and when I am not sleeping, my skin is the first to show it! There are simple things you can do to help your body calm for sleep.

And trust me, and your skin will enjoy the benefits as well.

Stress Strategies

There is no denying that 2020 has been a year so far that has had monumental stress! Becoming a mom at the onset of COVID19 has created new challenges and heartbreaks.

But also by far, it has been the most incredibly precious time in my life.

But life is stressful. So even though I may be working on less sleep than I want or need due to my little bundle of joy, there are times that life's stressors get in my head when I am trying to sleep.

I cannot sleep. I think about a million things, and  I cannot turn my mind off. I have worked so hard to support my clients, pivot my business and struggle through the restrictions and government guidelines to keep myself, my employees and my precious family safe!

Yup, thinking it all through in the wee hours of the night.

There are many great routines that I have started to implement to help calm my mind for a restful sleep. Sleep meditation, herbal teas, and minimizing screentime and natural supplements are excellent ways to optimize my sleep and give me the energy that I need for the day.

Of course, the fave routine that always calms me and my skin for sleep is my treasured Alumier nightly skincare routine.

Sleep position

Every time I look at my sweet baby girl Sloan sleeping, I am continually in awe and reminded that her skin is virtually perfect! She sleeps on her back, and her ideal skin most of us dream of just lights up the dark bedroom.

I want to tell her, "Enjoy it while it lasts, baby."

As my daughter grows, I will tell her all about what I have learned about sleep patterns and skin health. It certainly is a lot more than what I knew about growing up.

Sleeping on your back is a number one great way to avoid sleep from being another link to your aging.

Pillow Talk

Typically we love to bury our head into a soft pillow at the end of a long day! More than a third of our life, we crunch our face into a pillow.  That head crunching feels comforting but is a sure-fire way to incur fine lines and wrinkles.  Supporting your face with an excellent ergonomic pillow is so important! A pillow that is infused with properties such as silk and copper repels bacteria and optimizes cleanliness.  The ergonomic benefits of a great pillow will help you get that restful sleep and support your head and neck but is another superb way to protect your skin and optimize your sleep quality.

Finding strategies for stress, considering your sleep position and choosing a great pillow are simple ways to optimize your sleep and reveal a happier you. And trust me when I say, your skin will reveal it as well!

Your family will thank you. Your skin will thank you.
